Day 1 - Here’s the Situation
Let’s start at the beginning
Somewhere in the middle of rural Italy in the hot sun, on a bike, lost and looking for answers is where inspiration struck
By the time Fish reached Barcelona, a fully formed idea had been reached… HOW FAR IT HAS COME

Then Fish took the song back to the states for the long process of turning it into what it is today
You have to hear this
It’s embarrassing, but part of the growth of any musician is trying new things… and failing. Hopefully this will help you understand how far we’ve come and the bumpy road we took. The lesson Fish took out of this period of his life is that at the end of the day you have to BE YOURSELF. You can’t put on a FACE (or in this case a VOICE lol)
For some reason Fish’s high school friends believed in him and started to learn this songs
This is one of our first acoustic rehearsal’s with Fish singing and playing acoustic guitar, Lily singing harmony, Thomas playing bass and Dan playing lead guitar
And for some reason our producer David Lipps heard this demo and put his faith in the project… Bless him
Then over a year later…
After countless sweaty rehearsals in our favorite garage we finally reached the point where we were ready to record our pilot music video for the song “You Deserve A Vacation”
WAAAIT WHAT???
Yeah you heard it right… we went into the studio that day with the full intention to record Vacation - not Situation. Although we prepared for Vacation specifically for weeks before with an extended intro/outro WE COULD BARELY PULL IT TOGETHER!! By take 6 or 7 we we’re all feeling pretty stressed about the results of our performance…first Jordi’s Rickenbacker kept falling out of tune, then Fish forgot the vocals and biffed a few parts, one thing after another left us feeling MEH about most of the takes and pretty good about take 6 - which is the one you’ll see later this week (let us know what you think now that you know the story haha). We were at the point where we new we gave it our best shot and knew that another take would just put us down. Thats’s when our videographer and good friend Andy Strong had a brilliant idea. “Hey guys why don’t you play a different song. Something upbeat and fun that you all really love.” Instantly we all knew which song it would be. ONE TAKE. DONE. AMAZINGLY FUN. That’s the video below that we all love!!

Of course the band has changed a lot since we filmed “Here’s The Situation” in January - Many things have changed this year. We are so lucky to be able to still be playing music and SO grateful that Celia, Ruben, and Jacob have stepped in to play as other made necessary changes in their lives. That being said, we are adaptable humans!! As long as we’re alive we’ll keep jamming one way or another. Enjoy it!!
